Rise of the Hutt Cartel out now

By Ian Fried Posted on April 15, 2013

The first expansion for the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, Rise of the Hutt Cartel has officially been released worldwide. Those who pre-ordered the digital expansion had a few days of early access. At a set price of $19.99 for non-subscribers, and $9.99 for current subscribers, players can expand their Star Wars experience with new missions, features, high-level equipment and even a new planet, Makeb. The level cap has been increased from level 50 to 55, giving players access to the new high-level content released in Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy. Lower level players may not have much to cheer about however, as all the new content focuses on the higher levels.

“We’ve worked hard over the last year to ensure we were listening to player feedback and acting on it. This month, we’re not only adding hours of new story-driven content and features with Rise of the Hutt Cartel, but we are also adding depth and content to the end game with our latest Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy.”
– Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer

Faction story lines continue on the planet of Makeb as the Hutt Cartel tries to take it over. A new set of missions require the use of Macrobinoculars and Seeker Droids, sending players across the entire galaxy, but yields valuable rewards.
