The Pillars of the Earth Impressions - E3 2017

By Mike de Leon Posted on June 20, 2017

The Pillars of the Earth is based on the best-selling novel written by Ken Follett. Daedalic Entertainment has adapted the narrative, crafting a beautiful hand-painted experience the retells the story of the village of Kingsbridge. From the 1,200 page book, they have transformed it into a 2D point-and-click adventure that lets players interact as Jack, Aliena, and Philip and change the events of the book by the decisions you make and through conversation.

Players take control of three main playable characters in a non-linear storyline. Follow their story in this interactive novel, where the decisions made have a substantial impact on how events will unfold. This version of The Pillars of the Earth is so involved that one cannot help but build an emotional connection to the heroes.

The game will be divided into three separate releases, or books, with each one providing at least six hours of gameplay. Book 1, From the Ashes, is set to release at the end of August, but Daedalic hasn't mentioned how long you'll have to wait for the final two books. The Pillars of the Earth is releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
