Semblance is a puzzle platformer that promises to deliver a unique gameplay, by allowing players to mold the world they are playing on as well as alter the shape of the main character.
I had the chance to play their demo during PAX East 2017, and I do have to say, I was surprisingly drawn into it. It has a simple design, but it offers exciting challenges. It has that feeling that I find so enjoyable in puzzle games, allowing you to mess around with possible solutions and just have fun. I only got to play a little piece of the game, but I have a feeling that Semblance has the making of an addicting title.
The star of the game is a cute bouncy ball called Squish. He has been tasked to stop the infestation of hard material that is creeping throughout his soft world. To accomplish his goal, he has to collect scattered energy essences located around the different areas of the map. They are usually placed out of reach and requires players to come up with creative solutions by altering the terrain.
Semblance is currently slated to be released in August 2017 on PC, but it may come to consoles at a later time.
