H1Z1 to be broken up into two unique games

An upcoming big change is coming to the Steam Early Access survival zombie game H1Z1. Daybreak Game Company has announced the game will officially be broken up into two independent games. H1Z1: King of the Kill will focus on bringing new multiplayer deathmatch game modes, including fan-favorite PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battle Royale.

The current game will now be called H1Z1: Just Survive, and focuses primarily on the persistent, post-apocalyptic open-world zombie experience. The game still features a robust crafting, and base-building systems, as well as require players to scavenge to survive.

Players who already own or purchase H1Z1 prior to February 16, 2016, will receive both titles. On February 17, 2016, both H1Z1: Just Survive, and H1Z1: King of the Kill will be available on Steam Early Access for $19.99 each.

H1Z1 is currently 25% off on Steam until February 12, 2016. For $14.99 you could own both games, which is a significant discount when compared to buying both games separately on February 17.

H1Z1: King of the Kill is set to exit Early Access and launch on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 later this Summer. H1Z1: Just Survive will be staying in Early Access throughout the end of the year.
