Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Impressions - E3 2017

The hardcore tactical stealth game Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun finally has a console release date, after earning the hearts of many on PC back in 2016. Highly praised by the PC and Steam community, players take on the role of five completely different characters, each with their own set of unique skills and abilities.

Your elite team of warriors must sneak behind enemy lines, jump from roof to roof, and stick to the shadows. Use their unique abilities to take enemies down silently, or avoid contact altogether. Knowing the traits of each warrior will help you complete the missions strategically, and with a touch of finesse.

Set around the Edo period in Japan, the game is visually impressive. This style of game lends itself well to being able to save and load your game instantly. I wasn't able to experience it through the console versions, but I would be quick interested in seeing how this is handled. As long as you can easily save and load your game before gambling your life, I think Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will find a new audience on consoles.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is set to release in August for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
