During today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, it has been confirmed that an HD remake of the GameCube classic The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is coming to Wii U this year. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata noted that the next Zelda game is going to take some time to complete, so Wind Waker Remake will help to ease the wait. Besides the obviously improved visual effects, Wind Waker Remake can be played entirely on the GamePad and will also feature Miiverse integration. The new lighting system brings the already beautiful game to a whole new level.
What other changes should we expect? How about Nintendo adding the dungeons that were cut for the original GameCube release. We can hope, can’t we.
