GameTrailers to close after 13 years

Major video and news website GameTrailers announced today it would be closing its doors in a very unexpected twist. Employees only just heard the news today as it broke. While no major details have been included in the sudden announcement, we'll no doubt learn more as time goes on.

Ben Moore, assistant editor at the site, posted the following tweet earlier today after the announcement was made.

GameTrailers was founded in August of 2002 and quickly grew in popularity as it provided free access for users to view previews, reviews, and more across the site. Its content offerings grew to include pieces from ScrewAttack, The Angry Video Game Nerd, and GameTrailers TV.
