EA pissing off loyal fans with Battlefield 3 Premium Edition

With the announcement and release of the Battlefield Premium at E3 earlier this year, EA set a road map for all of the future expansions and a price of $49.99. As of right now over 1 million players have purchased the $50 add-on, bringing the total for them to experience everything Battlefield has to offer at $110.

Coming September 11 (really?), Battlefield 3 Premium Edition will only cost $70 and included Battlefield 3 and the Premium membership. This screws over early adopters of Premium with a $40 cheaper option soon to be available. We are reaching out for EA/Dice to comment if they are going to reimburse the early adaptors or provide something extra to warrant the extra $40. While some argue they are within their right to release a “GOTY” style edition, the other side sees it as being so close to the release of the paid DLC that this must have been planned all along.
