Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Gets the Greenlight

Currently in Open Beta, the browser-based game, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters has been giving the “greenlight” for a Steam release, in which developer Spicy Horse is aiming for the end of January. Akaneiro, allows players to hunt “legendary monsters in Edo-era Japan,” in a unique dark fantasy style with a mix of folklore and Little Red Riding Hood.

With this news, picy Horse and American McGee, have added a new reward tier to their Kickstarter, which is sitting just under $82,000. Pledging $30 gets players a new spirit pet, named Karakuri Gaben, inspired by Gabe Newell – one of the founders of Valve. The resemblance is uncanny and quite frightening, to be honest.
